Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2010 with an intake of 60. Department has well qualified and experienced teaching faculty and technical staff with state of the art laboratories to meet the quality education required for present challenging societal and industrial needs.

Strength of the Department
Faculties of the department are well qualified and also have excellent experience in the field of teaching. The department has the state of art laboratories and computational facilities to offer good practical training as per the academic requirements of VTU. Department joined its hands with SHILPI students wing of BAI (Builders’ association of India), which helps the students to develop their skill in both academic and non-academic activities.

FACILITIES AND INFRASTRUCTURE
MITM is aiming to provide world class infrastructure and so has taken initiative in setting up different laboratory for different subjects like survey practice, hydraulics, concrete technology, computer aided drawing etc. Department also has the required systems and application software’s to cater the needs of conduction of laboratories. Precise instruments like total station, theodolite, levelling instruments etc are available for survey practice.
METHODOLOGY OF TEACHING
  • A proper lesson plan is meticulously designed in advance for every subject and implemented.
  • Extra care is taken to ensure each and every student has been given fair chance to participate in different activities like seminars etc.
  • Guest faculties and executive trainers have been called onto the campus to train students.
  • A schedule of events is prepared in advance and is circulated among all the faculties and students about internals, extracurricular activities, training etc.
  • Regular Improvement tests are conducted for all subjects concerned as a preparatory one before the final examinations.
