ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Civil Engineering of MIT Mysore has established itself as the pioneer in its field and efforts are consistently put in the direction of creating civil engineers with unmatched technical skills and social responsibilities. The department which started functioning in the year 2011 has begun to taste the success of its hard work and sincere efforts, in the form of VTU examinations.

It is understandable, that, in this competitive world, possessing an engineering degree even with distinction is also not sufficient to fulfill industrial requirements. The missing link between industry and academics has always been the lack of exposure of the students to the field conditions. Hence the well qualified and experienced faculty of civil engineering ably led by Dr. C. Ramakrishnegowda has embarked on a mission to impart the value-added qualities in the students of the civil engineering which would benefit them from the employers to a great extent. The President, Dr. Naresh Kumar B. G., a well-known civil engineer and academician himself, has always been a source of inspiration and has mentored the design the pro-field functioning of the department. The department has concrete support from Maharaja Educational Trust which is spreading its fragrance in the field of technical education in Mysore region over the past few decades.
