About the Department
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence) at MIT Mysore Started in the year 2022 with an intake of 60 students, to shape engineers who can thrive in an AI-driven world. Rooted in strong computer science fundamentals and enriched with focused training in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, the program equips students to think critically, innovate confidently, and solve real-world problems. The curriculum is carefully aligned with industry needs, ensuring that students graduate not just with knowledge, but with the ability to apply intelligence to data, systems, and decision-making in meaningful ways.
Beyond the classroom, the department fosters a culture of hands-on learning, curiosity, and ambition. Modern laboratories, project-centric learning, hackathons, and workshops create an environment where ideas turn into working solutions. Guided by committed faculty and supported by strong industry exposure, students are encouraged to explore, experiment, and excel. With an emphasis on ethics, adaptability, and continuous learning, the department doesn’t just prepare students for jobs, it prepares them to lead, innovate, and make a lasting impact in the evolving world of intelligent technologies.

Program Outcomes
PO1: Engineering Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
PO2: Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
PO3: Design/Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health, safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PO4: Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods, including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of information to provide valid conclusions.
PO5: Modern Tool Usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modeling, to complex engineering activities.

Journal Européen des Systèmes Automatisés (JESA) is recognized in Scopus and classified as a Q3 journal, reflecting its standing within the indexed research publications.
- Guided and mentored 5th semester students in successfully filing 12 patent applications, providing technical direction, innovation support, and end-to-end patent documentation assistance. Played a key role in fostering student innovation by facilitating the ideation, development, and patent filing process for multiple novel technological solutions.
